We're no strangers to color-blocking. We've been seeing it this past spring and summer in pairings of neon brights and white, or pastels and neutrals.
For fall think of using a Rothko inspired palette - reds, fuchsia, deep orange shades, and marigold paired with black, navy, emerald green or shades of tan, beige, and taupe. Play around with layering complimenting colors, like orange and red. You don't have to stick to just two shades, add another contrasting color with a bight bag or pair of shoes for extra kick.

Color-blocking in an outfit is a great way to pull together a classic look with a bit of retro punch.
